Why Divorce is considered anti-men? PDF Print E-mail

Before actually going into the discussion of why divorce is considered anti-men, I will first talk about certain psychological and behavioral traits of men that are important to understand. While these traits may not uniformly apply to one and all and there can be exceptions, however, from a clan's standpoint of view, the traits can be assumed to be fairly prevalent in one form or the other.

Our perverted social setups has required our men to go out and venture out into unknown territories, establish trading relations there and bring back wealth. And this requirement holds good till date. As men are required to meet unknown people and trade with them, they cannot afford to be weak, emotional, sensitive and too much expressive and open as well. Over centuries this behavioral trait has been adopted by the genome of men and has become a psychological trait to the extent that men love solving their problems on their own and to keep things to themselves as much as possible.

Women, on the other hand, were by and large required to stay behind at home and take care of the family. They were not supposed to meet more unknown people than the men of the family. As a result the bonding of trust was higher among women and it also allowed them to be weak, emotional, sensitive and expressive and open as well since they were involved mostly with family members and known people. Over centuries this behavioral trait has been adopted by the genome of women and has become a psychological trait to the extent that women love solving their problems after discussion with near and dear ones and express themselves as much as possible.

The second important point here is about the famous, Male Ego. Because men achieve in the unknown, and for these they are held up, they have an air about themselves that they are winners and they not only develop an ego because of that, they also love to take responsibilities. However, it is not that women don't have ego or do not love to take responsibilities. However, men flaunt it.

This is the reason a woman is made a man's responsibility in a marriage and in the event the marriage breaks then also it his responsibility to maintain the woman unless she is capable of maintaining herself or some other ‘responsible' man is found for the woman.

Because of this responsibility concept, bachelors are lured into marriage by showing a dream to them about marriage and are thus trapped into bearing responsibility. However, responsibilities are not imposed on women. And when the marriage does not work, the married men are again shown another dream of divorce by the society, the parents and other relatives.

Also due to adverse propaganda about men by feminists, divorce is viewed as liberation for women and escapism for men. Although this is a bias, but due to conscientiously planned anti-male conspiracy, the meme has been spread so deep that it has accepted as a norm rather than an exception.

So whenever a man wants to break free from a marriage due to a complaining and nagging wife, he is not allowed to do so because conservatives think women never harm unless in self-defense. And the major chunk of the judiciary being conservative, they always try to make the divorce difficult for a man and make it a costly piece of paper being touted as man's freedom.

Till the time men filed for divorces it was a social taboo, but when women started filing it, it suddenly became a fashion and it was hailed as an act of Women Empowerment.

  1. Is breaking a family an act of empowerment?
  2. And if it was so, why was it not put that way when more men used to file for divorces?
  3. Is it not that they also had some problem with their wives otherwise who wants to break a family?

Divorce definitely is a bad thing as it breaks a relationship but if breaking an abusive relationship means liberating the individuals then it should be welcome. However increasing divorce rate is a social issue and not a gender issue.

First the man is trained to be strong, cold and insensitive as he has to venture out and then these same traits are used against him within the four walls of the home and his own attempt to liberate himself is used against him to deny him basic rights.

Is it time to rethink about the phrase, "It's a man's world"?

Men’s Rights – Perspiration or Inspiration?

As I think about the today's theme - it reminds me of Thomas Edison, the man who invented the electric bulb. He had made a famous statement "Things are 99% perspiration, 1% inspiration"

Same applies to men's rights movement as well. It is a matter of constant awareness campaign and hitting at our opponents and proponents of male abuse. Contrary to popular belief, it is 3 times easier to abuse a male than a female because males have no support structure and male abuse is accepted by the society as social service.

Follow Yourself; Not Tradition

As I have repeatedly mentioned in my articles that cultures have deceived men, acting as vultures. Men have been used as the FREE ATM MACHINE, the UNPAID BODYGUARD, the de-facto PROTECTOR and PROVIDER, etc. by cultures and in the process have been reduced to disposable entities. Their abuse is considered a social service now.

And men, the way they are, are in a great way responsible for this. They rarely challenge or question conventions, traditions, histrionics and stereotypes thrust upon them. They do not feel the need to fight for their rights - only a handful of them are doing though scores are getting victimized. They do not demand for their space in the society and accept things as offered to them.

To this effect, today I take the example of Skandagupta - the great emperor of India. His stepmother has him sent to Ujjain so that her son can be made the emperor. He obeys her. But then the Huns attack India under the leadership of Attila the Hun. The army of Skandagupta calls him back as they needed his expertise.
