Articles a Day on "We Men" have always touched upon the side of men unexplored and unthought of hitherto. Some of the articles in that line are Castration of the Initiator: A Social Service, Identity Crisis for Men, Male Identity Redefined et al. Quintessentially, all the articles boil down to the fact that there has been gross unnoticed injustice going on with men. The world and the conservatives have cheated the men by allowing only women to shift their identity from a home-maker or what I call as domestic engineer to a career-woman or what I call as social engineers and that too it's the choice of the woman to do so.

However, men have been denied the luxury, they are still expected to be the ones who sacrifice more than women, they are still the ones expected to be taking more risks, they are still the ones expected to the Unpaid Bodyguard, the De-Facto Protector (often defamed as Predator) and the Omnipresent Provider, and because women are doing social engineering, additionally men are also expected to be the Domestic Engineer.

Ironically enough men do not realize the gravity of the situation primarily due to two reasons:-

  1. They are simply not left with enough time to think about all this - given the enormous variety and quantity of expectations that they have to satiate.
  2. They are emotionally castrated since the age of 6 and are left emotionally incapable to assess situations and deal accordingly. Put it straight - men are in no position to realize the abuse they are subjected to; they live in a world of denial as they are not close to their experiential domain.

And they continue to live in fantasies and never stop dream chasing. But now it's time they sense the conspiracy and declare freedom; freedom from their role of "The Knight in Shining Armor" wherein men are supposed to protect and provide for their family by marrying, having a family, buying a house etc.

Day by day, divorces are increasing as men are crumbling under the load and women are simply not ready to MAN the house and with divorces, is also increasing the verbal, physical, emotional, mental and financial abuse of men and all of this is happening because it is easy to trap a man as he follows a particular structure.

The day men shun off all responsibilities, stop protecting women, stop marrying and getting crumbled under responsibilities and stop buying houses to provide for, will mark the rising of men as FREE MEN. They can then travel, freak out, have fun, hang out with friends while women can take the responsibility.

Currently men are heavily dependent upon marriage and acceptance of burden of responsibility in order to survive in the society and this dependence sets the stage for their abuse. The day men become self-dependent i.e. independent of social burdens their lives will improve a lot rather than leading a dog's life they are currently leading.

Devang Rangani  - A Research Paper on The Portrayal of Women     |192.189.83.xxx |05-08-2010 23:51:29
A Telugu proverb says: \"Bringing up a girl is like watering the plant in your neighbor’s garden.\"
Bitter but true. The condition of women in the countries like India and Pakistan can be best understood in the light of
this proverb. The women in these countries, whether they are based in rural or urban areas, face multiple forms of
violence, including sexual violence, domestic abuse, burning and disfiguring through acids, beating and threatening,
honor killings, custodial abuse and torture, dowry-related violence, rape, female genital mutilation. India and Pakistan
are very stiff nations, where people not only take pride in strictly adhering to the religious values but, are ready to
sacrifice their loved belongings for the glory and sanctity. Both the nations have accorded a highly venerated social
position of women; hence acknowledge the rights and privileges of the women in society, but merely hypothetically. For
them, these are just maxims, which are never to be executed. But the modern writers, Anita Desai and Mohsin Hamid
describe their female characters even stronger than the male characters, despite the fact that the writers have
extremely different opinions and arguments from another.
The present research paper is divided into two facets. One
explores the strong sense of sacrifice of Indian women through the study of Anita Desai’s Clear Light of Day, while
another probes the issue of radical Pakistani women through the study of Mohsin Hamid’s debut novel, Moth Smoke.
Anita Desai, through her central character Bim of the Clear Light of the Day demonstrates the Sacrifice as the strength
of women. Even though the women India have been the token of sacrifice form the very beginning, the writer represents
the sense of scarification as their true power. She proves that is only Bim’s forgivable temperament that makes
everyone happy at the end of the novel...
Virag  - You male hater     |192.189.83.xxx |05-08-2010 23:56:38
Mr. Deveng,

It is because of male haters like you that men are being considered disposable in this country.

Have you
ever thought about the dangers that men and boys undergo? And the amount of violence they have to undertake because of
women?
Equality  - Confused feminist   |122.169.70.xxx |06-08-2010 02:30:28
Devang, You seem to be too confused. One reason, might be since you after reading so much trash novels. The novels you
mentioned are trash novels. Feed something good to your mind.

Next time before you give your
bullshit make sure you use your senses and brain, if you have that is. If not, refrain yourself from your attempts to
destroy the society.
Kavi  - Deveng: Speak only for yourself   |125.99.77.xxx |06-08-2010 00:56:18
Hi

You need to speak only for yourself and none of us men. I did not commit any of the things you've mentioned but
still
my house was destroyed.

Therefore, unless you are habitual woman molestor or have committed any of the
crimes (or misdemeanours) that you've listed, you have no right to talk about it. You have no right to allege anyone
else.

If your source of information is articles in papers, then Media contains articles of both male & female
bashing and there are also articles in which women have confessed to lying about making sexual or DV allegation just to
further their selfish motive. Even discounting few of this articles as biased agenda, you have to refer to rest....
Altius  - Existance of alpha males!!!   |117.199.144.xxx |06-08-2010 05:20:34
Devang,
Did u checked the National Crime Record Bureau (NCR? Apply your analytical mind and do not follow blindly
with the media. Most of the media persons had lost the true sense of journalism i.e. became pimp.
Try filing few RTIs
of rate of conviction with IPC sec. 498A, 304B, DV, etc.....
Read the clumsily draft and bare-act of these Gender
Imbalance Law.
Our NGO only demands Gender Equal Law.
In place of wife, replace as spouse. In place of women, replace as
person.
A simple common-sense and logic!!!
If adultery is crime, then why the trail proceeds, women in Civil court and
men in Criminal court???
This itself is a gender discrimination.

Sneak A Peek

Men’s Rights – Perspiration or Inspiration?

As I think about the today's theme - it reminds me of Thomas Edison, the man who invented the electric bulb. He had made a famous statement "Things are 99% perspiration, 1% inspiration"

Same applies to men's rights movement as well. It is a matter of constant awareness campaign and hitting at our opponents and proponents of male abuse. Contrary to popular belief, it is 3 times easier to abuse a male than a female because males have no support structure and male abuse is accepted by the society as social service.

Follow Yourself; Not Tradition

As I have repeatedly mentioned in my articles that cultures have deceived men, acting as vultures. Men have been used as the FREE ATM MACHINE, the UNPAID BODYGUARD, the de-facto PROTECTOR and PROVIDER, etc. by cultures and in the process have been reduced to disposable entities. Their abuse is considered a social service now.

And men, the way they are, are in a great way responsible for this. They rarely challenge or question conventions, traditions, histrionics and stereotypes thrust upon them. They do not feel the need to fight for their rights - only a handful of them are doing though scores are getting victimized. They do not demand for their space in the society and accept things as offered to them.

To this effect, today I take the example of Skandagupta - the great emperor of India. His stepmother has him sent to Ujjain so that her son can be made the emperor. He obeys her. But then the Huns attack India under the leadership of Attila the Hun. The army of Skandagupta calls him back as they needed his expertise.
